Which currencies use each sign

The table lists, for each sign, the currencies that Unicode's CLDR data (the locale data behind phones and browsers) writes with it in some country or language. The dollar sign is shared by 27 currencies, from the US dollar to the Mexican peso, and the yen sign ¥ by the Japanese yen and the Chinese yuan. Signs with a dash are historic or are written differently in CLDR.

Newer signs may show as a box

Some currency signs are recent additions to Unicode: the Indian rupee sign ₹ (Unicode 6.0 (2010)), the Turkish lira sign ₺ (Unicode 6.2 (2012)), the ruble sign ₽ (Unicode 7.0 (2014)) and the bitcoin sign ₿ (Unicode 10.0 (2017)). Older phones and computers may not have a font for them.
